Particles.

For this game jam, I wanted to learn more about making particle effects. Normally, I'm a writer and narrative designer, but making particles is fun because it is immediately usable and gratifying to see in scene. I'm pretty happy with how these turned out, even though we only managed to put 4/6 of them in the game at the end.


Originally, we hoped to make an adventure game where you help the people of Spectra prepare for their annual festival. This would have been a dialogue-based talking and collection game. Unfortunately, we were all new to using Fungus, a dialogue tool for Unity, so we were unable to include our dialogue interactions. Most of the writing was complete, as many of our team members are writers as well.

Still, the experience was very good, and I gained a lot of valuable experience making particles and putting together levels in Unity.
