v0.1.0 - Why Can't We Be 🐸


This release adds a new mechanic: Tongue Swinging! (Or tongue grappling? Tongue tethering? We haven't figured out the name yet...)

This mechanic drastically changes how the game feels to play and completely breaks the current level design, but we wanted to get feedback anyway because I think it's a lot of fun to just play around in the level, even if the game is completely broken right now. 

We're currently a bit stuck in how we want to approach adding this mechanic to the game, so we'd like your feedback on the mechanic. Here are some directions we've been discussing:

  • Should we change the game and level design to better accommodate this mechanic?
  • Should we change / tone down the mechanic to better integrate into our previous design?
  • Should we restrict the mechanic to certain challenges / areas?
  • Is the mechanic too different, and we should focus on polishing and improving what we have?

We're excited to hear your thoughts!

Here are some other miscellaneous changes this build has:

  • Added Auto Saving - The game now periodically autosaves to the autosave slot.
  • Added more kill zones so that you respawn quicker when you fall.
  • Collectables now magnetize towards the player when within the collectable radius.
  • Other various bug fixes and tweaks.
